S4FE2009 - International Conference on “Sustainable Fossil Fuels for Future Energy”

ENEA, the Italian Agency for Energy, Environment and New Technologies, and the Italian Association “CO2Club” had the pleasure to organize the international conference on “SUSTAINABLE FOSSIL FUELS FOR FUTURE ENERGY” (S4FE 2009), Rome - Italy on July 6-10, 2009.
 
The Conference intended to promote the reciprocal technical and cultural exchange about the themes of Carbon Capture and Storage technologies and their state of art. Besides, the conference aimed at stimulating collaborations between public and private research groups, as well as identifying common areas of interest for theoretical and technological improvement, in one word “promotion of CCS Technologies”.
 
Conference technical sessions had featured the following topics:
  • CO2 Capture: Pre-Combustion, Post-Combustion, Oxy-Combustion
  • CO2 Storage: Large Scale Demonstration Projects and Impact of the Quality of CO2
  • Efficiency and Plant Integration
  • New and Unconventional Combustion Processes and Technologies (Syngas, MILD Combustion, Hydrogen, …)

Attendance

The International Conference has been attended by more than 70 participants, among which scientists, engineers, regulators and industrial stakeholders form 9 European countries, Nigeria and Australia.

The “Matteo Ricci Congress Centre” is the prestigious location of the Conference.
The Congress Centre is set within a historical building in the heart of Rome, in Piazza della Pilotta 4, at walking distance from some of city’s best known monuments as: Fontana di Trevi, Piazza Venezia, Piazza Campidoglio and Capitoline Museum, Piazza del Quirinale, Roman Forum, Colosseum and Palatine.
